Complaints of mistreatment at Lab Aid Hospital are nothing new. Mismanagement, over-billing, erred treatment, misbehavior of stuffs, have been told of for last few months due to some incidents centralizing Lab Aid Hospital. All these dirty things have been camouflaged by fancy advertisements with handsome models and TV jingles sung by Habib Wahid. But, by this time, people those have earned experience of getting treatment in Lab Aid Hospital, have come to know what dirty & shabby staffs are being hidden under those fancy commercials.

Death of The New Born Baby

Death of a new-born baby, whose parents come from Old Dhaka, claimed that their child died from erred Lab Aid treatment. The thing was simple and nothing legally wrong with Lab Aid still then. But some incidents those took place in Press Club while mourning parents preparing a press conference, led people to smell a rat. First of all, the booking of dead child’s parents for press conference floor at Press Club was suddenly canceled by authority and the authority was just unreachable, in phones & personally. Secondly, when that couple came to street in front of Press Club surrounded by people & journalists, some musclemen pushed them out of the scene forcefully after few minutes. Then, some reporters contacted that couple and came to know, that the Press Club president has been bribed off by Lab Aid authority and some musclemen hired by Lab Aid authority showed up & threatened them while appearing to streets. Even the local police was biased and probably well-fed by Lab Aid, denied to take any action though they have been approched. Then people understood the thing, this desperation of Lab Aid to suppress the total thing fully shows that that child has died from erred treatment of Lab Aid. Father of that child told to bdnews24, “We came to Lab Aid & were ready to pay to be served with the treatment which Lab Aid shows in their advertisements to offer. But look what they did to my child. They killed my child.”

Death of The Heart Patient, Father of a Former Student of My University

Read on the death of father of a former student of my university, who died from erred treatment of Lab Aid Cardiac Hospital. Look at the video that what hides behind fancy commercials. The video given bellow is of the Bed-9 of Lab Aid Cardiac Hospital’s Coronary Care Unit (CCU), where his father died on the following day of taking this video. Bleeding is going on from stitches, wall of the room is too poor to make comment, the room is horribly shabby for Lab Aid. I know there are poorer hospitals which have more horrifying scenes than this. But this is the room and this is the treatment, for which Lab Aid charged Tk.5, 00,000 from the family. The person that you are watching on this video is not in this world anymore! He died on 11 Nov, 2007 at LabAid Cardiac Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh while treating under Prof.(Dr.) Baren Chakrabarti, Prof. (Dr.) M. Matiur Rahman (who is actually not a professor, but using this fancy title) and Prof. (Dr.) Ali Hossain (the best doctors in our country with some fancy fake title.!!!).We trusted the fancy ads of LabAid, also trusted the fancy titled doctors and nurses. But look at the real picture of Lab Aid’s CCU Bed No. 8. After the surgery they left my father on the bed without any proper attention. The Lab Aid doctors are so busy to catch another new CCU patient, which they forget about stitching the surgery area of the current patient. Look at the blood all over the bed! Look at.. how clean Lab Aid’s CCU unit is!

I raised my voice when I saw the real picture of LabAid. For raising my voice I got slapped on my face in front of the all the people by the Lab Aid G.M. Mr. Imran Chowdhury.I am sure Lab Aid doctors who were involve with my father’s treatment has got a good amount of share from the bill, but can they really tell that the hospital/or even the doctor’s has done a proper treatment for that helpless guy Mr. A. K. M. Fazlul Haq (my father)? He was just lying on the CCU Bed No. 8 helplessly for 15 days and expecting his sons, also the doctors will take care of him properly. We have done our part from the bottom of our heart; we were ready to spend all of our savings and everything to get a proper treatment for our father, because he is our father who took care of us properly. But Mr. or Ms. Lab Aid administrators….Have you guys taken care of my father properly? I am sure you did not, because I am the one who is one of your victims. How come a person who didn’t even have any heart surgery or any type of major surgery, but got a bill for 5 and Half lac taka (BD Tk. 5,00, 000.00, AU$8,155.00, US$7,288.00)???Dr. Lutfur Rahman (Head of LabAid’s Cardiac Hospital) (I am pointing you because you are the golden son of our country), do you guys still wanna claim that Heart Surgery is cheaper in Bangladesh now? On 11 Nov, 2007 when my auntie (Ms. Sharmin Naaz, Assistant Commissioner of Taxes, Bangladesh Govt.) went to see with you regarding my father’s bill that time you mentioned about your contribution in Bangladesh. You were also talking about you can make 1 lac take in a matter of second. Well, done Dr. Lutfor Rahman…Well done! We’re really proud of your contribution (?) to our country! So, STOP f..ing around with a human life, OKAI Dr. Lutfor Rahman, Prof (Dr.) Baren Chakraborty, also the others who are involve in this human killing business!

 

Please raise your voice against these criminals who play with human lives, not only that, they charge high for this dirty game. Please let as more friends and relatives as you can let know about this incident. Warn them about Lab Aid Hospital. Let them know what hides behind fancy commercials. You may do this or not, at least keep yourselves away of Lab Aid Hospital.

American Lessons to Third World Nations

This is a true story, has its characters those are prominent men of our society and from international corporate arena too. So I am going to describe in such a way where there will be no names.

It was in a party, took place in Dhaka few days ago was attended by some of corporate big shots. Inviteds were mostly Bangladeshi and some of Pakistanis, Sri Lankans & other foreigners those are living here for professional purpose.

During the party Sri Lankan once asked a Pakistani, “What’s really happening in your country?” The Pakistani told him “I actually don’t get what’s happening or what’s really gonna happen.” This discussion was also being attended a Bangladeshi who is a very rich & famous chartered accountant from old days, was asked the same question by the Sri Lankan. That Bangladeshi simply answered, “I am also not sure about my one.” There was a wave of smiles between three men and then the Sri Lankan said, “As few days have passed I am living in you country, I had the chance to go through your newspapers a bit. I have got match between one of your present administrative big shot with one of stories which is about some Sri Lankan minister. Here is the story-

This minister was often to go to US for necessary or unnecessary reasons at the cost of Government. Once he was there for quite few days & got invited to the party thrown by a US politician, an administrative associate. He naturally went to that party and was thundered by the palatial residence of that American politician. That Sri Lankan minister has done lot of corruption in his country but this palatial residence was a real blow for him. During the party, he asked that US politician that how it was possible. That politician took him to the balcony and told him showing to a river,

-Do you see that bride upon the river?
-Yes, off course.

-Yeah! I made 5% off that. Understood how this home been made?

-Oh!

Then, that Sri Lankan came back home & years later. Somehow that American was invited to his residence at a party. This time the blow was for the American. The guy who has already a palace in America, hit with a much bigger thunder, looked at the residence of the Sri Lankan, who once asked him about his residence in America. The American’s first question to him was,

-Oh God! How you’ve made this?

- (smiled) Come on! It was simple. Come with me.

Sri Lankan minister took that American to the balcony of his residence and told,

-Look at there, do you see the river?

-Off course yes! Its there!

-Do you see any bridge upon it?

-No! How can I see? There is no bridge there.

-Yeah! I made 100% off that.””

The Pakistani & the Bangladeshi gentlemen were looking at the Sri Lankan while finally he ended up with his story. Nobody has asked my anonymity in the post but I have deliberately skipped there names. Because these men are prominent & famous and anybody will recognize them if I mention names.

Now, it’s very clear that whom that Sri Lankan has indicated and why. We have someone in this regime who is often to visit his American bosses. He his also often to meet some of his bosses in parties which take place at their palatial residences while his bother accompanies him. We don’t know what American associates show him from their balconies. We don’t know if he is thundered by those palatial residences & asks how those are made. We don’t know if our man learns & adopts way to make palatial residences like this. But it’s for sure that our man has his own way to build those for himself while his brother is the boss of a local bank.

They Need Your Help

We need to hit it back. And the only way to do this is helping its victims. The situation over those affected areas is grave. Survivors have been helped to survive but they need help to survive further. People have lost their home. Poor parents have lost children, children have lost their parents. They have lost what they have got. Nothing is left apart from their lives. And this is such a time when they need your help badly. This is the time when a nation don’t need to see, who is the regime, how is the government, how is the corruption situation, what are political identities. This is the time to come forward with what you can provide. Our brothers & sisters are in trouble. Just think of that the cyclone could ravage your home if the direction would change a bit. Then what would happen to you? You would not be seating in front your screen this way. So please help those victimized people to get them back in their lives.

The Story And The Drama

Justice Najmun Ara Sultana & Justice Mohammed Abu Tariq, formed the bench which today has ruled a stay order on Election Commission’s invitation letter to Hafizuddin Ahmed & Saifur Rahman. This bench has asked the Commission to show cause behind why their letter to Hafiz won’t be illegal. The Commission has been given four weeks to prepare the piece of shit they are going to submit to the court. This case has been filed by Barrister Nasir Uddin Ahmed Ashim on behalf of Begum Zia. This debate has been attended by Barrister Ashim & Barrister Nowshad Zamir.

Shamsul Huda’s ‘noorani’-face & ‘joralo’-speeches showed that at the Commission will make it at the court. But the high court bench has done a great favor to the Commission. Let me explain. Outer look of the Commission was a busy box. But it is not that busy in fact. You know, they have their cordial helping hand beside them. The entire tension & stress of preparing voter list have been shared by Bangladesh Army from very earlier. Only stuff those commissioners do about the voter list is to pose around the laptops & India manufactured webcams those have been bought by this regime. Apart from this, few things those were left to the commission to do were, delivering spicy speeches, enhancing the validity period for this unlawful regime & appearing in front of media wearing nice suits, nice ties & polished faces. But recently they have showed up as a right hand wing of the illegitimate ‘hank’ version of this regime. This illegitimate role of the Commission was realized by Bangladeshi people very easily. Now the court has showed up in the scene. High Court judges think that this crooked drama by Haifz-Saifur-Hooda should last long. Finally our ‘bak-potu’ Election Commissioners have got some real job to get concerned about.

If we analyze in general terms, the high court order has been very much contradictory to this regime’s plots. In fact, this order has disarmed the efficacy of this regimes desire to put spineless clowns such as Hafiz as BNP big shot. The literal interpretation of high courts order indicates that this stay order has been ruled after considering Begum Zia’s claim of redirecting that letter to BNP General Secretary Khandoker Delwar Hussain. That means, Commission’s rubbish talk has not been brought to account by the court. At least the total event has an outer look or shape like what I have said in last few sentences.

But, some of experts don’t want to get convinced by how it initially looks like. Indication leads us to the concept that the entire hearing by the high court bench is a story which has been written earlier & played today. Possibly this regime does not want this Hafiz issue to remain in the media as a hotshot for long time. Eventually however Hafiz appears to public is never going to get acceptability to BNP supporters. This simple thing is understandable to everyone. It’s not like that this regime never knew about this but probably they have never thought about things will turn around like this. Media is such a thing which always gets divided about whatever happens, at least our regime though this way. But this time, crooked involvement of Election Commission into BNP debates has hit the image of Commission hard. And the media is not being found divided while explaining the controversy that the Commission has done. If we keep some ‘dalal’ newspapers like Prothom Alo & Daily Star aside, the entire media is seen to get frustrated about what the Commission did. As we see, the matter is taking a shape which possibly our regime did not predict. So it was the only tool for them to impose to pull the string on high court to give this crap a little more time. This stay order will let this regime to plan more shit, this stay order has made the Commission to prepare more shit.

But this stay order at least has let BNP supporters to relax a bit. This regime’s spokesmen, who had very strong voices earlier (may be have silenced down by getting slapped by some Major) like Tapan Chowdhury, Gen. Matin, have mentioned many times that this regime will show that nobody is beyond the justice. I think they should do some homework to prove themselves, should look around themselves.

Crooks Have Forgotten 1983

Finally crooks have made their move. Finally crooks have showed up with their veiled back ups. Finally they have passed the message to all nationalist people of Bangladesh that, they are here just because of this ill fated regime is backing them up. Today they have made it very clear to this nation that, the reformist segment of Bangladesh Nationalist Party is a such ill fated type of political cult, which type has been familiar to people of this world since very beginning of history. It won’t be needed to think hundred years back. Bangladesh after her liberation had also this kind of political round up. Let us look back in 1983. What happened then? Didn’t we see the unlawfully formed presidium by Shamsul Hooda, M.A. Matin, K.M Obaidur Rahman? Didn’t we see the BNP Office to be taken over by crooks? Yes, we saw. Similar to present situation, a General was running the regime at that time. Under his loyalty, many big leaders deserted BNP, betrayed the spirit of Zia. These deserters were backed up with all resources from governmental organizations. Police was there dudes; secret agencies helped them to inspire other leaders to betray. And some of brave souls like Col. Oli at that time, was in hide out & remained under loyalty spirit of Zia. On the other hand, deserters backed up by military took over the presidium, denying the name of Zia. But what was the outcome? How was the reply to those traitors? That adverse turmoil gave birth of a new generation of BNP supporters. It did nothing but build up a stringent position for BNP for the time when the ill fated regime was pulled down with its tails. Why this crooks get no lesson from their predecessors? Their predecessor K.M. Obaidur Rahman was back as a “re registered soldier” under Begum Zia’s loyalty, but never got back the popularity to BNP supporters & never could wash up the spots on him. Other predecessors were lost, forgotten and dumped. Why they don’t understand that assault on turncoats is nothing new for BNP. It has been doing such job since 1983. Today’s Rizvi Ahmed was an elderly student leader at that time acted as a brave soul at that time. Today’s Dr. Asaduzzaman Ripon, Habibunnabi Sohel, these charecters were played by Amanullah Aman, Abdullah Al Noman, brave souls like Abdus Salam Talukder, Gayeshwar Roy at that turmoil. As a result, Bangladesh Nationalist Party came to power in 1991 & overthrew Ershad with all his bloody disciples.

 

Today, crooks have taken over the office with thousands of their relatives and people who has been paid in from downtown slum areas. The mayor may be managed some pieces of shits from his city corporation slums. Hafiz, Saifur has been covered by many civil dressed federal agents, the total drama has been played with presence of thousands of police personnel. Just like 1983, exactly as 1983. Our information says that Major Hafiz was leading a campaign of communicating all of his relatives from last week. Sources say, Hafiz asked for manpower to his close relatives & also asked them to keep in touch with him. Other leaders like Mayor Sadek Hussain Khoka, ex Deputy Mayor Abdus Salam, other ward commissioners were also given the assignment of gathering crowd, to offer money if needed. This is how they showed up with today’s crowd. All of faces around Hafiz, Saifur were found very relaxed after earning a smart sum of pocket money for the appearance at Paltan. Specially a middle aged bulky guy, wearing a tight green t-shirt, jeans trouser & was wearing a sunglass, is a direct cosine to Maj. Hafiz. I never heard of him to be somehow related to BNP politics. But he has showed up & may be other cosines, nephews, nieces, uncles & aunts of those crooks where waving to them & welcomed them to the place which neither belongs to them, nor they belong to the party. Sources claim that some of executives of various secret agencies were present there.

 

Let them use the office, let them claim the proxy of mainstream BNP, let them claim the sole agency of the party, let them claim to be loyal to Begum Zia, let them do all these. But what will happen when their masters at cantonment will quit? What will happen when Begum Zia will be out of unlawful detention somehow? What will happen when they will have to go for election? Who will vote for them?

 

These questions were asked to the crooked presidium which took over in 1983, they couldn’t answer. We will wait for these crooks, in present.

 

STOP MISUSE OF SECRET AGENCIES & AGENTS

Court Calls Rehana

“A Dhaka court Sunday ordered Sheikh Rehana, who is facing charges of extortion, to surrender by Nov 18.
Additional chief metropolitan magistrate Shawkat Ali Chowdhury issued the order.
Earlier, the court had issued a warrant of arrest against Rehana, sister of detained former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
The case involves alleged extortion of about Tk 3 crore from a businessman during the rule of Hasina, also accused in the case.
Rehana, who lives in London, denied the charges against her.”

 Sheikh Rehana, younger sister of detained Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, has been accused for an extortion case which has also Hasina in its trial. In the flashed audio clips those provide content of interrogation of Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim & former Awami League General Secretary Abdul Jalil by DGFI Executives (sources claim), its heard that they have been asked about movement & role of Sheikh Rehana in Awami League political & financial matters. Information was verified about real ownership of Rehana’s residence at Surrey UK, Selim’s residence at London & other residences which are generally used when Awami League leaders be there. Specially a direct question was asked to Selim about the involvement of Rehana in an extortion issue.

 

Bangladeshi political arena was a bit concentrated into BNP’s leadership for last few weeks but now, Awami League threads have now appeared as the declaration on Rehana has been delivered from the court.

Amar Fashi Chai Author Rentu Died

Motiur Rahman Rentu, the veteran freedom fighter and author of the book Amar Fashi Chai (I want my Death Sentence) has died from lung cancer in Paris Saturday. The former companion to Awami League president Sheikh Hasina published Amar Fashi Chai in June 2000. At that time, Awami League regime banned the book almost as soon as it got published as its contents were inflammatory and could provoke hatred toward the government. In his book Rentu criticized the then ruling Awami League administration and specifically targeted some of its presidiums, including party President Sheikh Hasina. This book by Rentu worked as a major beat up on Awami League during pre election movements of political parties in 2001. Many of unrests, crimes, murders those took place between 1991 to 1997 have been explained by Rentu in that book alleging these were executed at the order of Sheikh Hasina by different Awami League, Chhatro League, Jubo League cadres including Rentu, Hasina’s cousin Sheikh Helal, Sheikh Rubel, Bahauddin Nasim etc. Some of incidents had Rentu himself as miscreant & that was the reason that Rentu demanded is death sentence confessing crimes he has committed at Hasina’s order. Rentu had shown 12 reasons at the end of the book demanding his death sentence including the murder of Chhatro League leader Delwar Hussain in 1991 & Bankruptcy case relating Dhaka Stock Exchange in 1997. According to Rentu, Delwar was murdered by the involvement of a former NSI (National Security Intelligence) Officer at the instructions of Sheikh Hasina, Hasia did so to recharge the campus riots against Ershad’s dictatorship in 1991’s protest.

Rentu left Bangladesh in 2003 with his wife and two daughters and stayed in different parts of Europe for a year before settling down in Paris. The son of Abdul Bari from Muksudpur in Gopalganj, Rentu took active part in 1971’s liberation war under Sector-8 and after the liberation, Rentu was taken in by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as a close person & Rentu remained as companion to him. After the assassination of Bangabandhu, Rentu was one of rebels led by Qauder Siddiqui and was arrested as a political prisoner by Bangladesh Army in 1976. Rentu was released soon after Ziaur Rahman became the President. Since then, Rentu maintained a close working relationship with Hasina to 1997. Rentu came to a clash with Sheikh Hasina in 1997 after the Dhaka Stock Exchange scandal & left Hasina’s intimacy as well as Awami League. Rentu’s nephew Bablu has confirmed from Paris that his uncle had succumbed to cancer and would be buried in Paris. Rentu was 53 and is survived by his wife and two daughters.

RATS are back in full form and effectively in Control.
Conformist leaders like Motia chowdhury, Shahara Khatun, Abdul Matin Khasru, Subid Ali Bhuiyan etc are mysteriously silent.
Getting ready for starting the partnership with the government. Already started local election process.
Party activists, intellectuals, well wishers are however gloriously against this military government.
Rationale:
Prefer pragmatism over idealism. Three bird in one stone. Make friendship with army, destroy BNP. Destroy Jamaat and thus destroy center rights election hopes.
Future:
1986 style election and credibility loss. Will in turn make Khaleda popular again.
Not Clear:
How they will handle Hasina. Can’t go to election keeping Hasina in jail. Released of Hasina keeping Khaleda in jail will be suicide for both AL and king’s party.

 

BNP

 

Current Status:
Set to be on the street for a long haul. A repetition of 1983. Party is effectively split, but the grassroots and support base remains loyal or coming back. Crisis of senior leadership. 80’s student leaders are effectively in charge. The worst time is probably over, although the coming days may look bad.
Rationale:
BNP strongly believes that they still represent center right and center right in Bangladesh will win fair elections.
Future:
Boycott elections. Party symbol may go to King’s party fraction of BNP. Will remain in the street rather alone( May be Jamaat) for at least two years into the new government of 2008. Khaleda family may remain in jail for an indefinite priod. Unofficially party leadership may temporarily be taken over by one of Khaleda’s daughter in laws.
Not Clear:
Remains to be seen how they face the wrath of the military government over the coming few months.

Jamaat
Current Status:
Not too bad. Leadership are more or less free.
Rationale:
Why they went into offensive regarding 1971? The rationale is crystal clear now. It happened suddenly after Jamaat meeting with CEC. CEC has been talking like a center-left political leader over the last few weeks. He was more Awami League than Awami league leaders during his meeting with AL. During his meeting with Jamaat he gave strong hints that he may try to bar jamaat leaders from participating in polls on the ground of war crime. Jamaat leader, foreseeing a court battle on war crime issue, started a denial campaign. It was intended only to make the court room fight easy.
Future:
Bad time is coming. CTG may use the Jamaat war crime court battle as a layer of smoke screen and keep the awami league intellectual force happy. If war crime becomes a strong issue, jamaat will change leadership and induct Bangladeshi generation like ATM Azaharul islam and Kamaruzzaman.
Not Clear:
Jamaats joining hands with BNP mainstream will be a big boost for BNP and help BNP keep the street agitation going during the coming bad days. Question, will Jamaat return the favor to BNP?

I have assumed a little bit about what this regime is going to do as their next course of action on BNP and also have shared them with Rumi Ahmed. We have been observing this regimes ‘cards’ on BNP since the day Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan has showed up. If we categorize them,

4. Ill interpretation of coups & counter-coups of November`75.

5. Interview of Col. Rashid. (which was an attempt to widen the rivalry between followers of Mujib & Zia)

6. Invitation drama played by idiots at Election Commission. (Its not me who named them idiots, it is honorable Barrister Rafiqul Huq, who is fighting for both Khaleda & Hasina at court, called the CEC an idiot last week)

lt has led them to depression as major cards they have played have been failed crucially. May be military junta syndicate left a long held breath after they made it to manage the Election Commission to be their slaves, but recent beating up of Lt.Gen. Mahboobur Rahman by a BNP youth wing Jubo Dol activist has made them all those crooks to reconsider all their bloody plans. Though consequent failures are appearing, this junta will go further to pad up themselves thickly. I assume some possible cards those have real chances to be played by junta.

1. Correlating Zia with Sheikh Mujib’s murder case some how. This will may be ran by the showdown of a certain figure who was close to Sheikh Mujib.

2. An interview of another convicted Mujib assassin, which will repeat piece of shit those Col. Rashid has already said.

3. A statement from H.M. Ershad that will try to mean some shit about Zia’s assassination & coups of 1975-81.

4. Releasing some anti Khaleda Zia crooks & some of businessman from jail, who were somehow detained due to corruption & tax defaults.

What Really Happened on November 3?

                                                        The 3rd Nov coup started with withdrawal of Bengal regiment soldiers guarding Banga Bhaban. Major Hafiz and Captain Iqbal (Later Ershad’s minister) did this job. Major Hafiz was then a brigade Major and assistant to 46 independent infantry brigade commander Col Shafaet Jamil. Being Col Shafaet Jamil’s close associate, he was one of the planners of the coup. Along with Khaled Mosharraf, Shafaet Jamil, Brig. Rouf, Col. Nuruzzaman and Sq. leader Liakat, he was also a crucial leader of the coup. And when the events started unfolding, 4th Bengal soldiers were surrounded Banga Bhaban, Major Hafiz himself planned and ordered the house arrest of the then Army chief Maj. Gen. Ziaur Rahman. He was commanding the soldiers and junior officers guarding house arrested Zia. As an immediate past PS of Gen. Zia, he probably didn’t have the face to go in front of Zia. Even at the standard of that time, it was a treachery to plot coup against the general you were PS to. He rather sent Capt Hafizullah. When the coup ended on the eve of 7th November, very unfortunately Khaled Mosharraf was killed by Col. Taher’s troops. Along with Khaled, officers like Col. Huda and Col Haider, who had no involvement in planning this coup, also got killed. The major players like Col. Shafaet Jamil and Major Hafizuddin escaped untouched. Although Hafiz was the only officer present at 46th Brigade HQ at that time, rather mobilizing loyal forces to save the lives of Khaled Mosharraf, Col. Huda and Haider, who were detained at 10 Bengal regiment, he simply deserted his coup comrades and escaped to safety.

Now it was very surprising to see Maj Hafiz deny his involvement. This probably could happen as we failed to document our history and political almanac. And more outrageously, not only did he unremorsefully deny his involvement with the coup, he brought false charges against Brig. Hannan Shah. When Zia was killed and Maj Gen A Monjur was still the GOC Chittagong, a war situation developed between Chittagong GOC and rest of the army. A war line was drawn at Shuvopur brridge. Gen. Ershad, the then army chief, was ordering Gen. Monjur to surrender over radio. Hannan Shah was the commandant of Bangladesh Military Academy at that time. That was absolutely an academic post. At that war situation, he re-established communication channel with Chittagong division and was trying to have Monzur surrender peacefully.

This recent arrogant attempt of Major Hafiz to blatantly revise the history again emphasizes the need to documenting and preserving our daily political events. This also underlines how unprepared our political parties were in transitioning to parliamentary democracy. Anybody with a potential to win a seat got party nominations. The candidate’s integrity, previous activity, values, character traits were not at all considered. For Maj Hafiz, BNP was convenient because the constituency he belongs to, Bhola 3, was traditionally a safe anti AL seat. And as he won as independent candidate in 1991 election, BNP did not think twice before admitting him in the party. And thanks to Hafizuddin’s skill in managing everything, although a newbie, he became ministers in successive BNP governments.

In the face of strong protests to his revision of history, Major Hafiz later advised the nation to forget the past. He now also mentions that whatever a young officer did 32 years ago, does not matter now. His words remind me of 1975 and the young officers’ activities on the early morning of 15th August.

Surprise Midnight Raid at Fu Wang Bowling Club

RAB-1 personnel have executed a surprise raid at Gulshan’s Fu Wang Bowling Club (by the road from Tejgaon towards Niketon & Shooting Club) on Thursday midnight. Four RAB vehicles including one full of woman elites have rushed inside the club area and initiated the operation by blocking all entrances to the club. During the operation going on, the disco inside was kept rolling with hi sound, enjoying men & women inside could not detect they have been raided. All men & women inside the club have been taken to the rooftop of the club & RAB personnel got them lined up for verification drinking permit. Those who had no permit have been taken in by RAB. During the whole operation, some people were waiting outside the building with endless anxiety; they have been assumed as guardians, family members or, parents of boys & girls those were beneath RAB operation inside the building. Officer (Operations) of RAB-1, Abul Hossain has said this operation to be an attempt of flushing out some criminals from the club. Hossain has indicated that RAB’s and other Task Forces’ raids on Dhaka’s clubs and discos will be going on.

 

Numerous discos & clubs around areas like Gulshan, Baridhara, Banani, and Dhanmondi areas are usually very well known media place of drug addicts, dealers & other associates. Illegal liquors, marijuana, yaba, cocaine, ice etc. are generally distributed in places like these. The initiative to comb out these clubs that Rapid Action Battalion has taken should be appreciated as RAB-1 should always come out of their operation with successful outcomes & should be presented their findings in public. People will always appreciate these kinds of operations. Who want to see their children inside the dark world of drug? Nobody wants.

RAB Sent The Couple to Sweet Home?

We have heard about a “hadith” that says, it’s a virtue to rely on other men. Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has probably now taken the trick of reminding their favorable “hadith”s during their investigation procedures. I did not know that Yaba racketeer Pushpita’s husband M.N.H. Bulu was also called to RAB and both husband & wife were interrogated.

 

I have only heard about that Pushpita, but in real it was the couple inside RAB cell. I remember, I heard a RAB officer to say that Pushpita has married to a very rich & renowned businessman that is why most of the outputs of Pushpita’s arrest are not about to be disclosed. What the hell is this? A renowned businessman’s wife has more consideration of privacy than others? Then what about the ministers those have been arrested? Their families have been totally brought to the media. Don’t they have pride? Don’t they need privacy? Yes, now our honorable retired Lt. Gen. Hassan Mashhud Chowdhury may say that none of them is innocent or arrested without reason, he has been reciting this poem verses since he has been the Chairman of ACC. But our intelligent Generals which are in service, they have nowadays have removed the microphone from him a bit, after they really started arresting without reasons. But now we came to learn, they are also releasing without reason. Otherwise at least please say something to me that may convince me about these nonsense craps going on inside RAB; They had three major target after their successful raid at Joynal’s Dhanmondi residence, they were Pushpita, Nikita and Joynal himself. They had arrested Pushpita yesterday. But they have released her at that very nigh !?! …

… they somehow got Pushpita’s husband Bulu into them. Their target came down to two from three immediately after they got M.N.H. Bulu between them. I can’t find, I can’t find that how RAB got this enormous amount of confidence on Pushpita’s statement that has let them occur this kind of turnover in the investigation? Can’t they understand they are becoming self-contradictory? Their activity already has turned their own man Major Mahboob into a ‘clown’. How many clowns we will find in RAB in future? What M.N.H.. Bulu got which turned one of skilled law enforcing group in Bangladeshi history into a clown? It’s I think a question whch’s answer will may be a bit abusive to the ‘pride’ & ‘privacy’ to renowned business man Bulu & his racketeer wife Pushpita.

What The Hell Has Happened Here?

Till this very Thursday, we were getting notes that both Nikita (Niki) & Pushpita are directly/indirectly related to capital’s yaba racket. But it didn’t take more than few hours for RAB to be confirmed that Pushpita is fair. What the hell has happened here?
When a raided house contains illegal stock certificates, millions of cash, illegal liquors, and Viagra pills; is not it a big deal? We have found RAB’s Major Mahboob to say last afternoon that Niki & Pushpita have been active players of Dhaka’s yaba arena for many days, they were deployed to keep contacts, attract customers, clients etc. But now, Pushpita has been released tonight by RAB after getting arrested on this very day. So, what that indicates? Is that Major Mahboob was lying before TV camera at Wednesday noon? If he did not lie, then how it is believable that Pushpita has been freed because she got no accusation? How RAB came to sure within few hours that Pushpita is fair? Did she submit any god-given truth certificate with her statement? or, she submitted something else? or, her corrupt & thug husband M.H.N. Bulu has submitted something really valuable due to wife’s interrogation other than any god-granted truth certificate?

One of RAB’s commanding officers, Wing Commander Sultan Mohammad Noorani told, Pushpita has said that her sister Niki & Niki’s boyfriend Purbani Hotel Director Joynal are key people of Dhaka’s yaba trade rather than herself, so right this time, these two are at the center of their yaba hunt. Now the fact is, yesterday RAB had Joynal, Nikita & Pushpita at the center of their hunt after they had a successful raid at Joynal’s residence, but after the very day, they not only removed Pushpita from their target list, they have totally believed what she said. How an alleged yaba racketeer can be so easily trusted by RAB personnel. The woman who was RAB’s desperate target till yesterday, that woman has now become a member of RAB’s very conservative short list of trusted people. Its not like somebody else has claimed Pushpita as a yaba racketeer, it’s a spokesman of RAB, a Major, who said it to the media, so how can they deny themselves so ruthlessly? I am very much puzzled at this kind of activity of one of country’s skilled elite battalion. What the hell really happened there? Should Anti Corruption Commission interfere?

May be our Generals & Advisers have the answer.

Edward Kennedy Calls For Releasing Teachers

United States Senator Edward M. Kennedy, younger brother of John F. Kennedy and second-longest serving member of the United States Senate, has sent a letter addressing the Chief Adviser Dr. Fakhruddin Ahmed through hands of the Bangladesh Ambassador to U.S.A M. Humayun Kabir. Senator Kennedy has sent the letter to Bangladesh Embassy in Washington D.C. The letter says about the anxiety of the Senator about the illegitimate detention of twelve university teachers due to clash of political views. Senator Kennedy found it as a major assault on the integrity & human rights. Senator mentioned his fear about the torture on detained intellectuals and asked to ensure the period extension of attorneys, family members & medical care . In this letter, Senator Kennedy has criticized illegal detention that has been administered from the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) and biasing of the present Caretaker Government due to political reasons. Senator Edward M. Kennedy has asked the ambassador to ensure a copy reaches to the Chief Adviser.

Nice to See You

We have never seen these men together due to any purpose. According to a freedom fighter of sector-2, there was a meeting held in Agartala near the sector-2 headquarters. That meeting was presided by Major Khaled Mosharraf (commander of sector-2, ‘K’ force & later Major General) and that meeting was attended by some sector commanders like Major Zia (commander of sector-1, ‘Z’ force & later Major General), Major A.T.M. Haider (trainer of sector-2 guerillas), Major Abu Taher (commander of sector-11 & later Cornel), Major Rafiqul Islam (later Major General), Major K.M. Shafiullah (commander of sector-3, ‘S’ force & later Major General) Major Mir Shawkat Ali (commander of sector-5, later Major General), Major M.A. Manjur (commander of sector-8 & later Major General) with some other ranked Lieutenants & Captains. This meeting basically held to discuss & analyze some important instructions those where given by the Supreme Commander of Mukti Bahini, General M.G. Osmani. That was probably the last event which could unite these Mukti Bahini mentors. This is 36^th year running since the independence and we could not have any issue that can have our fellow sector commanders together.

Yesterday, Bangladesh Liberation War Sectors Commander Forum members, six sector commanders, (from left in the photo) Mir Shawkat Ali, K.M. Shafiullah, A.K. Khandaker, Kazi Noorujjaman, C.R. Dutta & Abu Osman Chowdhury have come forward together with their appeal to ban Bangladesh Jamaet-e-Islam & other alleged war-criminals of 1971 from election. Not only that, they have also declared of filing a case charging war criminals. This step has been taken after the day of Jamaet leader Ali Hassan Mujahid’s allegedly abusive speech against the spirit of Bangladeshi independence.

In general, alleging war criminals has been found as a regular spat from Bangladesh Awami League & other pro Awami League political parties since many years. Neither allegers, nor alleged men were seen to get serious on this issue in past ever. But this time, shouts against war criminals have been raised strongly. A positive side that Jamaet was holding this time was having less of their men under accusations of Anti Corruption Commission & other law enforcers, but this has been hit hard as Jamaet is now to answer allegations of war crime against them.

Let Check Points Above IGP’s Imagination

I guess that most of the residents of Dhaka do not know about the real picture. Even our IGP, Mr. Noor Mohammed has kept his opinion, “it’s extremely beyond our imagination” he told after the second wave of yaba-raids in Dhaka. Interestingly, at the very moment when Task Force troops got into Amin Hooda’s flat, Mr. Ahsanul Huq Hasan was at the door & do you know what Mr. Hooda was doing? Hooda was manufacturing yaba pills & got caught red handed with 125 thousand pills, manufacturing machine, ingredients, illegal/unauthorized wines, liquors etc. But quite surely, our IGP did not get a surprise at what his men got at Hooda’s flat; I guess he was talking about something more precise, more complex and proportionately fatal.

 

Yaba is the name which has now become a big noise for most of the rich parents at Dhaka’s posh residential areas. This noise does not let them sleep at ease, this does not even let them smile I guess. If somebody claims that above 80% of youngsters in posh areas are addicted from yaba, we won’t have enough points to argue him. At least 6/7 at each 10 youngsters in those areas are somehow (deliberately or not) addicted from yaba these days. It’s easy to assume that it’s not that easy for all to maintain a regular purchase of a commodity (!) which costs Tk.300 to Tk.450. It needs a youngster to have a good sum of money at wallet & it shows that they are mostly from rich families. Its very one sided if we consider only youngsters in our port-folio (!) of yaba. In posh areas, yaba is familiar to students to teachers, employees to bosses, youngsters to middle-aged people, to almost all age scales. There is record that university teacher who is a yaba addict, has been warned first & finally terminated from the institution. Many offices have records of warning its addict employees. The general formula of “depression, then drugs” cannot be applied here in case of yaba, records show that yaba is not followed by stress, depression etc. General findings are, most of students pretend that yaba is a component of smarter lifestyle and most of careerists are told that yaba helps to be more efficient, more hardworking. But my findings are, at least in younger circles like students, yaba is mostly taken for experiment by many youngsters. Among them, some let it remain just as an experiment, not custom. But they are very less in number and most of the experimenters cannot pull themselves out of it. Finally, these guys become a regular player of the dark & fatal game of yaba. Here, this is true for only youngsters. But the picture is such a contrast in case of middle aged addicts. They deliberately take this drug, may be at a controlled count, but regularly. This age group has office goers, businessmen, teachers etc.

"Musharraf Played Hell with Pakistani People"

President Pervez Musharraf is realizing by this time that how terrible it was his slavery under United States & his extreme reliability on his “secret agencies”. I am not talking about only Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) because ISI was not the only player on the intelligence ground of Pakistan since 2001. Though other branch secret agencies came forward after Gen. Musharraf took over in 1999, but agencies other than ISI came real extremely active since the Afghanistan war started in 2001 & Pakistan fortunately or unfortunately got involved into George W. Bush’s “War on Terrorism”.

The present situation briefly is,

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has came to the decision after observing for years after 2001 that more or less 400 Pakistani people have been missing since Gen. Musharraf responded Bush’s call for ‘War on Terrorism’. After getting reported by families of missing people, HRCP has come to the decision that all of these people have been kidnapped or, detained or, taken in as “suspects of terrorism” by several secret agencies. Its believed that after getting under pressure by United States, Pakistani regime decided to make the warlord Bush happy by handing over some “suspects of terrorism” by arresting innocent or irrelevant Pakistanis. This process got accelerated when United States suspected about eagerness of Pakistan in the bloody “War on Terrorism”. Notably, secret agents which have been deployed for this nasty business is not likely ISI & these agents have to report to nobody other than President Gen. Pervez Musharraf.

Some of the family members of missing Pakistanis met the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudry for justice at the start of 2007. The Chief Justice heard them & responded by going through enquiries about these missing cases. But he was answered that people who have been held by secret agents are suspects of involvement in Taliban movement in Afghanistan. Iftikhar simply did not believed this cock & bull story and reacted against this nasty involvement of the regime. The only and the only reason behind the suspension of Ifitikhar was his reaction against these unconventional arrests as well as these secret agencies. Iftikhar was suspended by the President Musharraf on 9 March, 2007 and has been insulted & abused constantly (as the image shows that a hand told to be of a secret agent is grasping by the justice’s hair) by the regime. Musharraf used secret agents (ISI or other agencies) against Iftikhar and its believed that the present turmoil of Pakistan got initiated by these incidents.

Iftikhar has been resumed in his position of Chief Justice by the uncrushable order of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, but the missing cases of 400 people still have no explanation. According to the regime officials informed the court, 56 individuals on the HRCP list of 136 missings had been traced. Of them, 45 had been freed, three were under trial, five under custody, one detained under the Security of Pakistan Act, one was an army deserter and one had been convicted. However, according to Brigadier Cheema, other people were still ‘untraced’.

I truly feel weird that it can really happen. How it can justified that you will handover your innocent countrymen to foreign regimes whoever it is, to just make them happy and to show them that you are in their side. Its fully proved that Musharraf has been using violent tribes or tribal terrorists of remote western Pakistan against themselves, for so called ‘elimination’. Musharraf has been showing to United States as well as Pakistani people that he is the guy who fights terrorists, on the other hand he with his bloody secret agencies has been kidnapping innocent people (mostly pious Muslims) to hand over to United States as ’suspects of terrorism’ since 2001. Its very much possible to find some of ‘untraced‘ missing people inside CIA prison at Guantanamo Bay, very much possible.

Really, Musharraf played hell with Pakistani people and to the time I am writing, Musharraf keeps playing.

Where is Dhiman Chand Malik?

A very hot news throughout the defence world for months was the RAW executive alleged to be Bangladeshi espionage. Alleged DGFI agent Dhiman Chand Malik, who was an Assistant Director & posted in Prime Minister’s Office in New Delhi to the day of his disappearance, has been hunted by RAW very badly. But the question is that where is he?

RAW masterminds claim Malik is somewhere in Bangladesh, Indian media suspects Malik to be in United States. But still there is no sign of assurance from neither RAW nor DGFI that where is Malik really.

Dhiman Chand Malik, a DGFI agent who has been working in RAW for 7 years as a Bengali speaking Indian Hindu, has been camouflaging his identity to the time his wife suspected him to be a Bangldeshi & let RAW authority know about it. Malik submitted all fake certificates of citizenship, other personal & academic records for official proceedings. He was promoted to Assistant Director & was given the charge of supervision of Prime Minister’s office in New Delhi. After getting detected, Malik has disappeared to unknown place most likely in United States.

Indian Commando Training Lasts for Only 39 Days?

Its really very strange that Indian Commando’s training is scheduled only for 39 days. With the touch of two field instructors (a major & a captain), they get training in the remote areas of south-east India, includes with physical tactics, remote navigation, guerilla warfare etc. I don’t know that which kind of formula they apply but possibly there is no sort of formula which can build a commando in only 39 days!

Many defence forums put comment that this is why Indian commandos constantly get hackled while countering separatists in many parts of India. Any special ops against separatists or mujahidins always contain with a large Indian Army jawans’ death tole. Most of their commando training snapshots looks like a circus group is getting trained wearing military uniforms. Its very depressing & pathetic that an army like Indian Army, which constantly faces a bunch of hazards & combats in multiple areas of the country, is training its commandos in a goddamned hurry. But why…?

During the training, Indian Commandos are also seen to be anxious after thinking that Pakistani Commandos will be laughing if they see Indians to get training this way.
Notably, an Indian Commando hero of Siachen glacier takeover [Operation Meghdoot], Naib Subedar Chunni Lal has been killed during countering an unknown mujahideen group in North Kashmir.
